Abby is based on a real-life show horse that Gerry rode. Gerry is a horse enthusiast who showed and rode jumping horses.

Abby was a silver medalist in the 1984 Olympics, and she loved the show ring. The carousel Abby appears primed and ready for the spotlight, too.
